gracie square residence

new york, NY

Renovation of the entry, living areas, and kitchen in a large apartment in a Pre-war building at the east end of 84th Street. The desire of the art-loving clients was to install modern elements that would play off the staid nature of the base building. Walls were replaced with glass vitrines and glazed panels with infused artwork to create a visual flow from the entry to the living room windows and East River beyond.

A streamlined circulation with integrated railings was designed to facilitate easier movement through the apartment for the clients’ long-term use as they age.

  • Low-iron glass vitrine

  • Graphic wall panels

  • Sliding frosted glass panels

  • Custom brushed stainless steel railings

  • Custom painted wood plank flooring

  • Whitewashed oak herringbone floor
