65 w 13th street

New York, NY

Residential build-out of a 3200 square foot space in a former department store at the southern end of the Ladies’ Mile Historic District. A motif of upscale industrialism was used to create a three-bedroom unit that used the heavy masonry of the base building to highlight the upscale finishes and fixtures of the residence. The apartment was designed to give the clients flexibility in the partitioning of the large living space to accommodate frequent guests. Details, colors, and materials are subtly altered to give each area a unique play in the larger space.
